Asimina Chremos 2/5/10

Called “a strong, elegant, long-limbed dancer who moves with a sense of stark drama and genuine lyricism” (Chicago Sun-Times), Asimina Chremos began her career with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater in the early 1980’s and later forayed into studies with improvisation teachers such as Simone Forti and Ishmael Houston-Jones. Approaching dance as art, she creates abstractions, narratives and kinetic sculptural forms across stages, studios and spaces of all types and sizes. In addition to her live solo performances, current projects include the daily dance video log CircadianDancer; site specific performances as microgig with cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm; and Echo Den, a sound-and-movement duo with vocalist Carol Genetti.

is an innovative monthly performance series of solo performances by groundbreaking female artists. The series takes place on the first Friday of each month from September - March

NEW VENUE INFORMATION!

The series is very saddened by the loss of the amazing LOF/t venue in the Load of Fun Building on North Avenue. The space and it’s incomparable director Ric Royer are hard losses for our city. The LOS SOLOS continues in two new venues as part of the LOS/t series - shows booked originally at LOF/t and now moved to other great city venues.

February 5th will be held at the H&H Building, 5th Dimension, 405 W. Franklin Street

March 5th will be held at Hexagon Space, 1825 North Charles Street

For all shows, doors open at 8:00pm, shows start at 8:30pm, $6.
